Japanese Tea Ceremony : SADO, CHADO
The Japanese tea ceremony also called “Sodo” or “Chodo”(which means “the way of tea”) in Japanese is based upon the simple act of boiling water, making tea, offering it to others, and drinking it oneself.“Sado” is identified the spirits with four basic principles of “Wa (harmony), Kei (respect), Sei (purity ), Jaku (tranquility)”. The expression “Ichigo, Ichie” (which means “One meeting, one chance”) also is used often to explain the sado sprit.All of participants share the aesthetic and spiritual experience. Would you like to learn the traditional culture of Japan through “Sodo”? |
Japanese Calligraphy : SHODO
The Japanese calligraphy called “Shodo” (which means “the way of writing”) is one of the most popular fine art as well as an art of meditation in Japan. It requires concentration of mind to reach a tranquil state of mind for creation. The characters are drawn the gradation of the ink (sumi) and the force of the brush (fude) strokes on the Japanese paper (washi). In it, beauty is sought through the direction, the form and ending of lines, the balance between elements are important for each line and point, and even the empty space. You can try writing some characters by yourselves with support of the instructor by using a Japanese calligraphy brush. Japanese Interlaced Braids : KUMIHIMO
Kumihimo, a traditional type of Japanese braid is a method of silk threads developed in Japan which traditionally performed on special wooden stands. There are more than 40 different ways to braid kumihimo cord and over 3000 design patterns. It’ll be fascinating to see your own beautiful cord being produced as you cross the threads. You can understand the wonderful world of kumihimo and also can try braiding a cell phone strap and key holder.

Origami
“Origami”(which means folding paper in Japanese) is the traditional Japanese folk art. Sheets of square paper can be folded into various shapes such as cute animals, beautiful flowers, all made from a single sheet of paper, normally without using scissors. Origami is for people of all ages, anywhere, anytime. Recently Origami models are being created in various and more complicated types around the world.

Japanese Sake Tasting Event :NIHONSHU Tasting
Nihonshu, meaning “Japanese Sake” is a rice-based alcoholic beverage of Japanese origin. Nihonshu has a very distinctive aroma and fruity sweet taste. The range and quality of sake is largely determined by the rice polishing ratio, variety of rice, yeast and alcohol percentage. Depending on these factors, Nihonshu may be fruity or full-bodied, dry or sweet. Nihonshu is 80% water, so the water used is a key factor in determining how delicious the final product will taste. In this event, you can enjoy sampling a few glasses of Nihonshu from Kyoto. The role of sake is to set an atmosphere for good conversation. Enjoy Nihonshu tasting! |
